ANNUAL DANCE.
20TH LIGHT BATTERY. Appropriately decorated, the Manchester Unity Hall presented a scene of gaiety 011 Thursday evening, when the annual dance of the 20th Light Battery, I N.Z.A., was held. Two of the battery's 3.7 howitzer guns were mounted on the stage, while an enlarged replica of the artillery badge was suspended over the heads of the dancers. A large Union Jack also held a prominent place among the decorations. The social committee, under the charge of Second Lieutenant J. L. Duigan, managed the dance, and it was gratifying to see a fine response to their efforts. The guests were received by Major G. B. Parkinson and Mrs. Parkinson, who wore dove grey georgette. Among others present were: Mrs.- F. C. Rawle, who wore a frock of flame floral taffeta and a short white fur coat; Mrs. R. W. Sharp, cream souple satin; Miss M. McCormick, cameo pink pebble crepe; Miss C. Clifton, black angel skin lace; Miss West, smoke grey lace; Miss Easton, rose pink satin beaute; Miss E. Lark, shell pink chiffon and lace; Miss J. Harp, black marocain; Miss D. Weller, apple green crepe flauri; Miss D. P. Proud, black frilled taffeta; Miss H. Austad, wine sequinned marocain; Miss S. Martin, white frilled georgette; Miss V. Newton, black panne velvet; Miss M. Skeen, black taffeta and ecru lace; Miss P. Taylor, white souple satin; Miss D. Bramlev, flame floral georgette; Miss T. Weston, lacquer red chiffon velvet; Miss L. Dyson, water lily green georgette; Miss B. Lunn, orchid marocain; Miss C. Moll, larkspur blue chiffon velvet; Miss B. Milne, scarlet crepe Henri.; Miss J. Ross, daffodil georgette; Miss E. Lumsden, petunia georgette and luce; Miss T. Walters. Solent blue chiffon velvet; Miss C. Matthews, lilac pebble crepe; Miss R. Collcdge, maize taffeta; Miss R- Russell, apple green ring velvet; Miss J. Lawson, powder blue angel skin lace; Miss S. Martin, flame floral marocain; Miss C. Cramer, shell pink georgette; Miss S. Stephenson, lilac crinkled crepe; Miss D. Terry, geranium red panne velvet; Miss F. Frank, vicux rose chiffon; Miss V. Lennox, flame georgette; Miss R. Hodgson, parchment lace and georgette.
