YEHUDI MENUHIN.
A FAREWELL CONCERT
In response to many personal appeals to the artist to give a farewell concert in Auckland, Messrs. J. and N. I ait announce that they have succeeded m rearranging the tour in Xsw or Yehudi Menuliin by finalising tor the Meuuhin party to sail by the Mariposa from Auckland for Sydney on August 9. thus enabling one farewell appearance to u c made on' the evening of August 8. The programme for this unique concert will be selected by popular vote. Music-lovers and the public at large are invited to make suggestions by naming their favourite compositions, clasfsical or popular, addressed to \ehudi Menuliin. c/o Messrs. Lewis Eady, Ltd., Queen Street. The result of the vote will be announced in the "Star" on Saturday, August 3. Yehudi Meuuhin continues to attract record attendances throughout the Dominion. The concerts given in Wellington were so well patronised that 500 additional chairs were installed for the two iina! conceits. In each case the houses were sold out hours before the time for commencement. The final concert in the South Island will be given in Dunedin on July 27, after which the artist will make the trip back to Auckland with his family for the farewell concert. Many of the telegrams received by Yehudi Menuliin asking for the additional Auckland concert were received from residents in outlying districts. For the convenience of country patrons J. and X. Tait have made arrangements to receive preliminary applications for seats for the various reserved sections. These will be fi'ed in nrd»r of receipt and allotments ui.idc uc.vtdins'y.
