CAPTAIN'S PRIZE FINAL. SIM AVINS COLTMAN CUP. The final of , the captain's prize match play tourney of the Auckland Golf Club was played at Mtddlemore, J. W. Guun (18) defeating A. J. Friedlander (13), 3 and 2. The course was in, good order, with the exception «o£ the Til'th, sixth and eighth holes, which were heavy alter rain. There was a large entry for the four-ball bogey competition. Considering the conditions, the scoring was of a high standard. T. W. J. Johnson,and 11. V. REMUERA CLUB. Reference to the short time taken tcif orm the course of the Bemuera Golf Club was made by the president, Dr. E H. B. Milium, in opening the new «l« bho «p e , °" Saturday afternoon. In October of labt venr, he stated, the idea of a club was first conceived and negotiations were commenced for the lease of the property near Lako-AVaiatarua. From then on everyone concerned had entered into the spllit 'of the venture, and the course had been xcauy for play in March.

LONDON, July 7. In the final of the Scottish golf championship on Saturday, 11. Tonison, the boy champion of 1031 and the present Irish champion, defeated J. McLean, the holder, 2 up and 1 to play. McLean had been taken to the 101 h green in the first, second and third rounds.
