BOXING.
OXLEY DEFEATS CARRIG
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON.N., this day. Ted Oxley, 0.7, fought in his old form to defeat Ted Cnrrig, of Masterton, at Pahialua on Saturday evening. The contest opened quietly, but Oxley was aggressive in the second round. He dropped Currig for a count of eight with a left rip to the body and finished the fight with a right to the solar plexus. Carrig was counted out after five minutes and a half of actual fighting.

B. Oxlcy. of Pahiatua, ex-lightweight chnnipion of New Zealand, has accepted a challenge made recently in Auckland by Neville Mudgway, of Waihi, t<l meet allcomers nt a similar weight. The bout will take place nt Waihi on July 27. Mudgway recently won the welter-weight championship at Christchurch.
