BUDGET SURPLUS?
Britain's Strong Financial Situation. PROBABLY £5,000,000. (British Offlci.il Wireless.) (Received 1.30 p.m.) RUGBY, March 22. Last week's Treasury returns indicate that the total yield of income tax for the financial year ended March 31 will be appreciably above the Budget estimate. The revenue estimates as a whole are likely to be realised, and in spite of additional expenditure, wh.'eh the Exchequer had had to face in recent months, the national accounts will, it is generally anticipated, show a surplus at the end of the financial year of probably not less than £5,000,000.
