BACTERIAL DISEASE. Important Discovery by Two British Doctors. SIX YEARS' EXPERIMENTING. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph— Copyright) (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 22. The "Morning Post" gives prominence to a discovery made by an Australian medical man, Dr. V. G. Walsh, and Dr. A. C. F-raser, at St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, London. It is understood that Dr. Walsh at present is on n visit to his home.

The discovery—the result of six years of investigation—concerns emulsified olive oil, injections of which apparently have power to and render harmless tevcins produced in the blood in cases of acute bacterial disease.

It is stated that the doctors have been able, in 20 cases of lobar pneumonia, to shorten the duration of hospital treatment to nearly half and to reduce the period of convalescence even more. Encouraging results also are said to have been obtained in cases of rheumatic fever, erysipelas and septicaemia.
