THAMES GIRLS' CLUB.
The Thames Girls' Club entertained members ajicl friends on Tuesday night in the chibroom at the Druids' Hull, North Street, Newton. The president, Mrs. J, Hubber, received the guests. Mrs. T. Aitkcu, vice-president, was present, and members of the committee served supper. An enjoyable musical programme was rendered, those contributing being: Mr. Smitlison, Mr. Wright, Miss Smithson, Mrs. Suo.wling, Master Smitlison, and Mrs. Buchan, who sang; Mr. Smithson, humorous recitations; Smitlison trio. Mr. J. Buchan was at the piano. Prizes were won by Miss Merchant, Mrs. Burdett, Mr. Alexander, and Mr. Boswell. A short address on some phases of women's life on the City Council was giv-1 by Miss A. Bastcn.
