DISPUTED VALUES.
PROPERTIES FOR SALE Nearly 200 properties, the owners of which are dissatisfied with the Government valuation, are now being offered for sale by the Government Valuation Department in Auckland. Ninety-nine of the properties are in the Mount Albert district. They comprise vacant sections, sections with houses, and areas of three acres or over. Properties not only in Auckland and surrounding districts, but some as far south as Matamata are included in the list. Under Section 4 of the Valuation of Land Amendment Act, 1933, owners of properties who are dissatisfied with the value as fixed by the Assessment Court have the right to call upon the Valuer General to further reduce the valuation, or require him to buy the property at the price fixed by the Assessment Court or a lower price, if any, set by the Department's valuer. The Government does not want to purchase properties, and under the Act it has authority to offer them for sale to the public. The \ list is advertised and particulars can be obtained from the local bodies concerned,] or at the valuation office, Auckland.
