Only two A grade matches were played In the Franklin Lawn Tennis Association's competition on Saturday, the contest between Tuakau and Pukekohe B being postponed until March 9. B.oth matches played were in group 1. At St. James' Pukekohe A beat St. James' by 7 matches to ."., while at Pukekohe East the home team drew with Onewhcro, two matches being iinplayed. AUSTRALIANS' SUCCESS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. A tennis match was played at Wilding Park yesterday afternoon between the Victorian touring players, A. A. Kay and R. W. Ewin, and a Canterbury team, consisting of C. Angas, H. Dyniond and A. R. Cant. The visitors Avon all the matches decisively, although Angas gave Kay stiff opposition. The best tennis of the afternoon was seen when Ewin beat his team mate after losing the first set to love. The scores were: —Kay beat Angas, 6—4. 5—7, 6—4: Ewin beat Dymond, 6—2, 6—3; Kay and Ewin beat Angas and Cant, 6—4, 6—4. In an exhibition match, Ewin beat Kay, o—6, 6—4, 6—4.
