RIFLE SHOOTING.
• ■■ ■ ■ AKARANA CLUB. The Akarann Rifle Club fired the second shoot of the fifth trophy series over 50'J and 600 yards for trophies presented by •the club, Mr. E. Holmes and Mr. S. Elliott. Conditions were changeable, there being a variable rear fishtail wind. Silver spoons were won by R. Wakefield, J. Jones-Parry, and O. Gee. Trophy points for the respective trophies were awarded to J. R. Draffln, W. Colquhoun, W. Powell. R. F. Wakefield, J. Jones-Parry, J. Mills, O. Gee, M. Rennie, L. AVatts, and J. Cossar. Results: Section A (trophy presented by the club).—J. R Draffin, 45 at 500 yards, 44 at 600 yards—total 89: W. Colquhoun, 44, 43—87; AV. Powell, 47, 40—87; R. p. Wakefield, 49, 38—87; J. M. Rennie, 40, 40 —80 ; E. J. C. Reston, 41, 35—76; A. 11. Dixon, 40, retired. Section B (trophy presented by Mr. E. Holmes). —J. Jones-Parry, 46, 45—91; J. Mills. 40, 41—81. Section C (trophy presented by Mr. S. Elliott).—Oliver Gee, 42, 39 (handicap !7) —total 98; M. Rennie, 39, 40 (18)—97r, Watts, 41, 3S (14)— 93 ; J. Cossar, 43 44 (5)—92.
