BAKEHOUSE GUTTED.
SYMONDS STREET FIRE. The two-storeyed bakehouse occupied by the Homestead Bakeshop, Ltd., at 173. Syinomi* Street, was gutted by lire early yesterday morning. The machinery ' and contents were destroyed, and the shop at the front was also damaged. When the outbreak was discovered shortly after 3.30 a.m., the fire already had a good hold' in the bakehouse, where, apparently, it had started, but the brigade was able to check ite advance into the shop. The contents of the shop and bakehouse were insured with the South British Company for £(i."» 0, of which £183 was on the contents of the bakehouse.
