CARS AND MOTOR CYCLES. The second meeting: of the New Zealand Motor Racing Drivers' Association at their new track at Gloucester Park on Saturday was the better for the experiences of the opening meeting. Hoses and damp tan bark kept down the dust, enabling both car drivers and motor cycle riders to register high speeds. Thus the handieapper, working on the form shown at last meeting, was not altogether to blame for the wide intervals between the placed machines in most races. Mathieson (Miller Special), 2. Time. 2.32 3-5. Second heat: G. C. Smith (Austin), 1; L. McLeod (L.M.C.), 2. Time, 2.28 3-15. Final : Mathieson (Miller), 1; Edwards (Bugalti), 2; McLeod (L.M.C.), B.' Taking the lead early In the race, Mathieson had no difficulty in holding his position to Die finishing line, where he was about one-third of a lap ahead of the Bugntti. Tho Austin had to withdraw owing to a plug oiling up. Time, 2.22 4-0. Junior Handicap. 5 laps, cars under 1500 e.e.—R. A. Dexter (Riley). 12s. 1: C Edwards (Bugatti), JOs, 2: G. C. Smith (Austin), scr. 3. This race was an easy win for the Riley, which led the 'Bmjatt! home by one-third of a lap. Time, 3.17. Geddis Motor Cycle Handicap, four laps. C. Final: Dexter (Riley), 6s, 1: Smith (Austin), scr. 2; Cooper (Essex), 10s, S. The Miller did not start, leaving the Essex, the Riley and the Austin to divide the places. The Riloy had an easy win over the Austin, which passed the Essex in the second lap. Time, 2.35 4-5. Consolation Handicap, three laps.—K. C.
