PLAYERS INDIGNANT.

\s (lie result of the published announcement that the Domain Is to bo used next Saturday for a girl guide assembly, the ~nd City and Suburban Cricket Association is up in arms at the interference with its cricket programme. It has the support of the A.C.A. in the matter, and a deputation from both organisations will wait early this week on the parks committee of the Auckland City Council to protest, and, if possible, arrange that the girl guide meeting shall be held on some other city ground, so that hundreds of cricketers will not be deprived of their regular Saturday sport. Mr. Jacob Elliott, president of the City and Suburban Association, said that this encroachment upon the Domain Cricket Ground at any time during the _ season caused serious inconvenience, and especially at this period, quite apart altogether from the resentment of the players, who contributed extensively to Domain revenue. The facts were that the Grey Lynn .Stadium, Carlaw Park and other grounds could be obtained for the girl guide gathering, but these grounds were unsuitable for cricket. If the main Domnin were occupied by the girl guides next Saturday, the cricket competitions would have to be suspended for two Saturdays, as on Saturday week the New Zealand athletic championships were to be held (it the Domain. It was a pure imposition, for cricket to be robbed of two Saturdays in succession, and he hoped that the citv authorities would realise this, and If the girl guides could not be accommodated at another ground they might easily hold their rally on. the Outer Domain.
