MISSIONARIES FAREWELLED.
A large and representative gathering assembled 011 Wednesday night at the Free Methodist Church. Mount Eden, to wish bon voyage to Mrs. J. -T. Bailey and her daughter, Miss Myrtle Bailey, who arc leaving by the Marama for India. Mrs. Bailey is returning, after a considerable i'.urlough, to her nursing work in the Poonah and Indian N illap:e Mission, and Miss Bailey to a Simla Hills North India. Mr. Sydney Jnnscn presided, and associated with him and participating as members of the mission council, were .Messrs. Johnston Clark (chairman), Clifford Tucker (secretary), Basil Ilercus and C. D. Snow, with the Rev. A. S. Wilson.
Vocal and instrumental music was supplied by Mesdamcs J. P. Karlsen and F. E. Salmon, and Miss Myra Malcolm. After Mrs. Bailey and her daughter had addressed the gathering, supper was dispensed by the ladies of the church, A feature of the evening was a loaded table of gifts for Mrs.. Bailey's voyage and Indian residence. Bouquets were presented to both ladies.
