SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
To welcome back to Auckland Mr. Albert Russell and Mr. Reg Morgan, Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Morgan entertained a large .number of guests at Mrs. Morgan's house, Manawa Road, Remuera. 1 lie music room was decorated with cartoons of Messrs. Russell and Morgan, which they had collected 011 their eight weeks
tour. The drawing room and lounge were tastefully arranged in amber-toned roses, and some excellent vocal and instrumental numbers were rendered at
intervals of dancing. Mrs. Russeil received the guests iu black taffeta and tulle, and Mrs. Morgan in blaek angel skin lace and diamante. Among those present were: Mrs. M. J. Moodabe, Mrs. Crighton (I'almerston North), Misses Margot Russell, Rcna Brodie, Nancy Burn, Connie Morgan, Val Lewis. Chap-man-Smith, Dean Graham, Laird, Groy and Godsell. • • • * A delightful function took place at the Convent school, Aramolio, Wanganui, when a social afternoon was given by the sisters and pupils to Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Hazehvood, Glasgow Street, 011 the occasion of their silver wedding. The programme was given entirely by the children. During the afternoon Mrs. Ilazelwood was presented with a beautiful bouquet and three very line oil paintings, the work of. the sisters, in recognition of many kindnesses and service rendered the school. Mrs. Hazelwood thanked the sisters and the children, after which a dainty afternoon tea was served. Amongst the guests present were Mesdamcs J. Ogilvie, R. E. L. Matthews, G. P. Williams, M. Erloan, Brycc, Nairn, Willis, Frost, C. Leary, R. Smyth, Fitzgerald, Crowley, Durling, Linsen, McAffee, Toomey and Miss Low.
