OBITUARY.
MR. GEORGE EASSEY.
The death occurred in a private hospital in Auckland on November 9 of Mr. (leorge Kassey, aged 41, who, for a long time hud been a well-known resident of Otorohangn. He came to New Zealand with his parents as an infant, and lived in Dunedin for some years, coming to Otorohanga in 1913. He built up a successful business there and erected buildings which are known by his name. He was a member of the Town Board, of the Oddfellows' Order, and was a Past Arch Druid. He took a keen interest in sport, and was a member of the Referees' Association. He was also for some time a member of the vestry of the Anglican Church. No charitable appeal was ever allowed to pass him, and he was one of the kindest-hearted of men. The funeral took place on Sunday at the Otorohanga Cemetery, and was very largely attended. He is survived by his widow and one young daughter, Mary.
