MEMORIAL WINDOW.

KING'S COIJJEGE CEREMONY.

In memory of the late John Aitken Plugge, an 'old boy of King's College, who'was killed in an aeroplane accident in England on May 1, 19:14, as a flying cadet in the Royal Air Force, a stained glass window was unveiled at the Armistice Day service in the college chapel last evening. There was a largo congregation of old boys, parents and friends.

Mr. A. C. Atchison, who was head of St. John's House at the college when the late cadet entered the school in 1920, performed the unveiling ceremony. The window, which depicts one of the Apostles, is in harmony with many of tho others. It has been provided with funds subscribed by old boys and present pupils in St. John's House. J. R. McGruther, head boy of the house and of the school, handed it over to the charge of the board of governors, and Archdeacon W. J. Simkin accepted it on their behalf. A dedicatory prayer was then offered. When the Union Jacks covering the window were drawn aside, a light outside the building was switched on, showing tho beautiful colouring of the glass. During the "Act of Remembrance" the chapel lights were extinguished, only the lamp of remembrance and the illuminated memorial window relieving the darkness. While the names of the old boys who fell in the Great War were read by the headmaster, the Rev. H. K. Archdall, the congregation stood in silence. Bugler cadets of the school sounded "The Last Post" from the grounds outside, and "Reveille" from the chapel entrance.
