MRS. WALTON CHADWTCK.
Death has removed another of the few remaining pioneers of the Northern Wairoa district, Airs, Walton Chadwick, .who passed peacefully away at her home, "Underdid - ," Aratapu, at the age of 87. Who was the eldest daughter of Thomas Stirrup AVebb and the last survivor of the family and the fourth member of it to die within a year. The family arrived in February, 1803, the day following the wreck of the Orpheus on the Manukau bar, and shortly afterwards they settled on the first section disposed of in the Te Kopuru block. Their first home on the lank of the Wairoa, opposite Mititai, is still serviceable. Aliss Webb was married nearly 00 years ago in Auckland to Mr. W. Chadwick, who survives his wife. There are three sons. Messrs. Wilfred, Thomas and Ernest Alfred Chadwick and one daughter, Mrs. H. Corkill, all residents of Aratapu. Mrs. Chadwick was at one time organist at the Aratapu Methodist Church.
