Mclean n.z. champion
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The New Zealand amateur billiard championship tourney was concluded on Saturday, when H. McLean (Christcliurch) beat A. Albertson (Lyttelton), holder of the title, by the comfortable margin of 340 points. Scores:— McLean. —1500 (breaks of 51, 45, 36, 34, 38, 44, 31, 35, 35, 4G, 30 and 51), with 165 visits to the table, an average of 8.1. Albertson. —1160 (breaks of 33, 34, 63, 31, 68, 51, 33 and 37), with 166 visits to the table, an average of 6.9. A meeting of the Provisional Dominion Billiards Council dccided that t.he new body should be named the New Zealand Billiards Control Council, and that the next tournament should be held in Auckland. the entries not to exceed 16. Mr. H. G. Siedeberg (the old Otago and New Zealand representative cricketer) was appointed the first president of the new council.
