OTAHUHU ASSOCIATION.
The cricket season was unofficially ushered in 011 Saturday, when the annual visit of teams from the Eden Club took place. Games were played with two local elevens at Sturgess Park. Matting-covered turf was played 011 and gave the batsmen every chance, the howlers gaining no assistance from the matting. 011 No. 1 ground Postlcs' team batted first and scored S7 (Naismith 13, McVeagh 15, Postlcs 13, Patterson 11). Stevens, wicket-keeper for Otahuhu, gave a snappy display. For Otahuhu. who scored 117, Gedyc, of Green Luue (54), McCorkindale (20) and McLaren (11) were the principal scorers. 011 No. 2 ground Gillespie's team defeated Otahuhu with 100, to which Otahuhu replied with 53. For Eden Raughton (retired, 42), Gillespie (retired, 40) McMahon (retired, 21), Smith (retired, 19), Fish (19), Simniomls (10) and McMahon (10; were the best, and for Otahuhu F. Pierce was the only batsman to make a stand, scoring 18. During the afternoon tea adjournment the visitors were thanked for the assistance they regularly gave to members of the local association.
