FRESH DEVELOPMENT.
HOBSONVILLE RELIEF JOB. MEDICAL EXAMINATION OF MEN. There was a new development in connection with the Hobsonvillc relief works disputo to-day, when a number of the men originally involved submitted themselves for medical examination, asserting that they were not fit to undertake the work offered to and refused by them. Originally these men, on their own statements, were classified as being fit for heavy work.
Some time ago 50 men from Devonport refused work at the Hobsonvillc Air Base, and since then they have received no assistance from the Unemployment Board. It is understood that the object of the men in submitting themselves to medical examination is to determine whether they are fit for heavy work. If not, they hope to again become eligiblo for assistance from the unemployment fund.
