DEEP IN SNOW.
STOCK BURIED. PHENOMENAL WEATHER. BACK PARTS OF SOUTHLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. A heavy fall of snow has occurred in the back parts of Southland, loin having fallen at Queenstown and 3ft at Kingston, which is the heaviest for 15 years. Mossburn reports ISin and Oliai loin. Inward bus traffic from these centres is suspended. Between Mossburn and Te Anau two motor vehicles were completely buried. The latest report states that in Te Anau Gorge snow is 14ft deep, and that all stock are buried. It is the biggest fall for eleven years.
IN CENTRAL OTAGO. \ SNOW HOLDS UP TRAFFIC. (By Telegraph.—rress Association.) DUNEDI>T, this day. Further falls of snow resulted in Central Otago being isolated from Dunedin except by rail. Between sin and 9in fell between Roxburgh and Lawrence yesterday evening, and heavy snow 011 "The Pigroot" made that route impassable. This morning snow is again falling heavily in Central Otago, and if it freezes, railway services will bo hampered. Conditions have improved in other parts, and rain this morning has cleared snow from the city.
