TRAVEL CLUB.
TALK ON CHINESE LIFE. On Friday. June 29, the ladies' committee of the Auckland Travel Club held their usual morning tea, about 90 members and guests being present. Mrs. W. Masson gave an intimate and amusing account of her housekeeping experiences in Hongkong. A serious note struck by Mrs. Masson was. that all intending missionaries to China should have some knowledge of the ieligious beliefs, historical traditions and moral code of the Chinese people before they attempted to carry out their work. Dr. C. W. Parr, recently of Peking, stressed this point and also contributed one or two delightful stories of Eastern domestic life. Mrs. A. Bishop acted as hostess, assisted by members of the committee. Amongst the visitors present were:— Mrs. Dupin, London; Mrs. Jordon, Suva; Miss Black, Sydney; Mrs. Packham, Melbourne, and Mr. Neville "Vincent, Christcliurch.
