SPILT INK CLUB.

The current meeting of the Spilt Ink Club, Auckland branch, took place at the residence of Mrs. Fisher, Onehunga, on Saturday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members and friends. Two original one-act plays were read. The first, "Martha's Dilemma," written by Mrs. Fisher, caused much amusement. The characters were sustained by Mrs. Fisher, Miss De Montalk and Mr. Fisher. The second, "The Chance," a thrilling dramatic sketch written by Mr. Fisher and acted by Mrs. Spiers and the author, was much appreciated. Impromptu speaking, arranged by Mrs. Harnesnape, followed, and some lively discussions took place. In conclusion Mrs._ Spier 3 recited a charming poem by Gloria Rawlinson, "The Bead Seller." The afternoon concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the host and hostess, proposed by Mrs.. Richmond, convener.
