AT MELBOURNE'S CENTENARY. (Received 12 noon.) MELBOURNE, this day. Only four of the 10 official guests of international eminence have so far accepted invitations to the Centenary celebrations, namely, Lord Baden-Powell, Lord Milne, the Marchese Marconi, and the Poet Laureate, Mr. John Masefield. Mr. Sidney Meyer, a member of the Centenary Council who is visiting Sydney, expressed the opinion that hundreds of thousands of people will attend the Centenary celebrations, which are to be officially opened in Melbourne on October 18. Ho expected 300,000 to witness the dedication of the Shrine of Remembrance by the Duke of Gloucester on November 11. The race clubs are providing £100,000 of prize-money for the meetings to be held during the celebrations.
