VICTORIA LEAGUE.

The third of a series of eight lectures arranged by the winter lecture committee of the Victoria League was held last evening in the league's rooms. Lieutenant-Commander R. P. Nesbit was the lecturer, and spoke on naval affairs generally. He stressed the necessity for the Empire being prepared for emergencies, and emphasised also the necessity for maintaining the merchant service at full strength in order to provide a reserve for times of need. The next lecture of the series will be given by Captain J. D. Hewctt, who will speak on aviation.
