The large yarding, however, caused another easing in values, approximately 1/ per hundred. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, reports:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day beef was again penned in large numbers, and although there was a steady demand, values were again easier by about 1/ per 1001b- Extra choice ox sold to 22/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 18/ to 21/; secondary and plain, 14/ to 17/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 18/ to 21/; secondary, 13/ _to 17/. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £8 10/ to £9 7/6; heavy, £7 10/ to £8 7/6; lighter, £6 12/6 to £7 7/6; light, £5 | 10/ to £6 10/; small and unfinished, £3 10/ to £5 7/6. The major -portion of the ox beef was first class. The demand was not so keen and values again receded, heavy cattle suffering most. Extra choice ox sold to 22/ per 1001b; choice and prime, 18/ to -21/; secondary and plain, 16/ to 17/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 16/ to 20/; secondary, 1?/ to 15/. Dalgety ancl Co., Ltd., report:—At our weekly Westfield fat stock market held to-day we yarded 244 head of beet, comprising 53 steers and 191 cows and heifers, against 236 head last week. The quality was well up to standard, but the demand less keen. An easing in values representing 1/ per 100 took place in all classes.
