PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society was held at headquarters yesterday morning. The president, Lady Sinclair-Lockhart, presided, and those present were: Mesdanies W. H. Parkes, J. C. Allan, A. J. Beck, H. P. Richmond, D. Nathan, T. Russell, W. H. Worrall, G. Fowlds, L. Dawson, T. Derrick, Gronin, Tracy Inglis, E. J. Wilkinson, D. Ogilvie, R. Towle, D. Roche, T. Holmden, A. Campbell, J. W. Lcthbridge, O. R. Courtenay, M. P. Hooper, R. B. Cruicksliank, H. A. Cooper, J. E. Cowell, li. B. Lusk, T. Woodliead, Maedonald, Fotheringham, E. Wiseman, Morton, Mother Hannah, Misses Robb and Colegrove. Before commencing the meeting, members stood in silence as a mark of sympathy with Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, on the death of her brother, Mr. Robert Burns. Arrangements were discussed for the annual street collection, and it was decided to hold it on March 23, subject to consent from the City Council. Thirteen delegates have been appointed to the special conference being held in Dunedin on February 22, and of these four are able to attend, the others giving vote by proxy. Lady SinclairLockhart, Mrs. Parkes, Mrs. Allan, and Mrs. A. Campbell leave Auckland for Dunedin this week. During the month of January 31 expectant mothers were advised, and there were 191 new baby cases. The nurses paid 1100 visits to homes, and visitors to the various offices totalled 6900.
