SWIMMING.
PONSONBY CARNIVAL TO-NIGHT. A comprehensive programme has been arranged by the Ponsonby Amateur Swimming Club lor its carnival in the Tepid Baths this evening. Among the events will be an attempt by Mona Leydon to lower the New Zealand ladies' record for 200 metres, a GO 2-3 yds open handicap, inter-clul> medley relay (nine-a-sidc, six men and three ladies), and relay races for business houses 'and insurance offices' teams. A water polo match will also be played between two strong teams, Grammar Old Boys and Ponsonby.
