MR. FORBES' PLANS.

TO SEE THE PEOPLE. "TIED UP LONG ENOUGH." SERIES OF VISITS PROPOSED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. It is a reassuring sign of the lessening of the pressure of anxiety on Ministers of the Crown that the Prime Minister ie planning a series of visits to various parte of the Dominion, commencing with the southern end of the South Island shortly. "We have been tied up long enough with emergency sessions and emergency Cabinet business," remarked Mr. Forbes to the "Star" correspondent, "and I am glad the time has come when I can move around more freely to see the people. I intend first to go down to Duncdin, on to Invercargill, and also into Central Otago, where I am particularly interested in the geophysical surveys being conducted by the Department of Industrial and Scientific Research. I want to see how mining development is going on there, and consider what the State can do to further encourage enterprise in that direction." The Prime Minister's feeling of relief from the heavy pressure of recent yeare will be shared by his colleagues. Parliament, instead of following a steady course of winter sessions, has been called to meet at irregular intervals, and the legislation has generally been of a character for which there was no precedent. Consequently, ite preparation meant long consideration by Cabinet, many consultations with experts, and much time spent in hearing tions from interests concerned. Now it is felt that the emergency atmosphere is lightening, and Ministers ■ will take the opportunity of getting into closer touch with all sections of the community, and demonstrating the nature of the difficult task they have been carrying out during the last two years.
