VICIOUS TERRIER.

DISLIKE FOR CYCLISTS. POLE VAULTER ATTACKED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHBJSTCHURCH, Thursday. A vicious little fox terrier -which attacked cyclists was responsible for the appearance of its owner in court to-day. One of the persons attacked was Mr. W. J. Batetone, the New Zealand pole vault champion. While Mr. Batstone was cycling along a city street the dog attached itself to hie ankle and tore his trousers, causing damage to the extent of 9/0. The owner of the dog was fined 10/ and the magistrate said that if any more was heard of its activities it would have to he destroyed.
