CYCLIST'S INJURED.

In a head-on collision with a motor car at the corner of Great South Road and Oninhu Road, Remuera, about 5 p.m. yesterday, the rider of a motor cycle, Mr. Harold Wallace, aged 20, motor mechanic, of Great South Road, Papatoetoe, and his pillion passenger, Mr. Norman Tindall, aged 20, farm hand, of Karaka, Papakura, both received concussion, and were taken to the Auckland Hospital by St. John Ambulance. Both patients are reported to be improving. The motor car, a heavy closed model, was driven by Mr. P. C. Richie, of Have-loi-k North, Hawke's Bay, who was on his way to Auckland, while the motor cycle was travelling southward. The front part of the motor cycle "was considerably damaged, but the car had only a bent mudguard and a broken window, , one of the passengers receiving a slight cut from a flying fragment of glass.

CAPSIZE AT OREWA.

DRIVER SEVERELY INJURED. Two people were injured, one seriously, when a car containing five people left the road and overturned about 100 yards south of the bridge at Orewa late on Saturday afternoon. Finned underneath the overturned car, the driver, Mr. Phillip Profiler, aged 29, married, of 28, Jveppel Street, Arch Hill, suffered severe internal injuries, while a passenger, Mrs. Audrey McLean, aged 19, living at the same address, suffered back injuries. The other occupants of the car, Mrs. Profner, Mr. A. McLean and Mr. R. McLean, suffered bruises and shock. Although still in a serious condition, Mr. Profner is to-day reported as improving, while Mrs. McLean is not in a serious condition. The accident occurred on a corner, in night of the cottage where the party intended to spend the holidays. Mr. Profiler swung to the left to avoid another car, and his own plunged over , the bank. To extricate him, the ear had to be partly lifted. The injured people were taken to the Auckland Hospital by St. John Ambulance.

PEDESTRIAN INJURED.

Knocked down by a taxi cab in Queen Street, Onehunga, last evening, Mr. Francis GUI, aged 49, single, of Ormondsville, Hawke's Buy, received concussion and head injuries, and was taken to the Auckland Hospital by St. John Ambulance. His condition was reported to-day to be still fairly serious, though improving.
