TWO MEN PROSECUTED. ONE BETS ON RACECOURSE. Two men,, one a relief worker and the other, a, one-legged Maori war. pensioner, were dealt with in the Police Court by Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., on charges of carrying on the business of bookmakers. William Flynn pleaded guilty. Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan said that at 3.30 p.m. on November 23, Detectives Moore and Brady were in a hotel bar when they saw Flynn with a double chart and notebook. Hortene promised the magistrate he .would not offend again, and Mr. Hunt adjourned the charge until January 20 to see how he behaved.
