Campbell, ami another charge of obtaining two pairs of stockings, valued at 19/10, by falsely representing that they were for Mrs. G. Robinson, were brought against Marie Baker, a young married woman, in the Police Court this morning. The woman, who appeared on summons, pleaded guilty. Detective Sergeant O'Sullivan said Mrs. Campbell had an account with a large city firm and Mrs. Baker got to know of this, and on three occasions she went to the store and obtained the goods, which were- charged to Mrs. Campbell's account. "Mrs. Campbell died, . and accused was at her funeral," added Mr. O'Sullivan, "and after the funeral she onec again went to the same shop and bought goods, which were put down to the woman's account. Accused is a married woman with two young children and her husband is etnployed ou relief works. She has never been in trouble previously and has since- made restitution in full."

In admitting accused to probation for twelve months Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., advised her to be more honest in the future. "I had Mrs. Campbell's permission to get the goods," said aceused. "What! After the woman died?",said the magistrate. Detective Sergeant O'Sullivan said that Mrs. Robinson, mentioned in the fourth charge, was a relative of the late Mrs. Campbell. "Mrs. Campbell made a complaint to the police before she died," he added.
