LAWN TENNIS.
VICTORIA CLUB. The official opening of the Victoria Tennis Club, Devonport, -was held on Labour Day. President Keely declared the court opened, and in welcoming new members, said prospects were bright for a good season. .Mrs. A. Webster hit the first bail over, the net. HELENSVILLE CLUB. At the Elelensrille Tennis Club's official opening there was a large attendancwif visitors and members, and'■ although weather was rather boisterous, some enjoyable games were played. E. W. Griffiths and Geoffrey Olllvier played exhibition games with two local players. ■
