DAIRY REGULATION.
LEGISLATION ON STOCKS. TRANSFER OF SUPPLIES. ». (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The legislation authorising the issue of regulations governing the transfer of the supply of milk or ereain from one factory to another during the currency of a season is now being drafted, according to the reply the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, gave Mr. W. J. Poison (Coalition, Stratfordl in the House yesterday. Mr. Poison called attention to the recent Court of Appeal decision which declared the prohibition clause invalid, and said it was necessary for the success of the co-operative system and the maintenance of high quality that neighbouring factories should not be in competition with one another. The object of the regulations, he' declared, would be entirely defeated if suppliers were able to hold over the heads of factory managers the threat that they would go to another factory if they did not receive more favourable treatment in the grading of their supply.
