LATE "KING" RATA.
BURIAL SERVICE TO-MORROW. EUROPEANS VISIT PA. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HUNTLY, this day. Amid the lamentations of his people, the late "King" Rata Mahuta will be buried to-morrow at Taupiri in the presence of thousands of natives and Europeans. Since the death of tho "king" natives have been gathering at the Waahi pa, near Huntly, from all parts of the Dominion. To-day tho number had reached over 4000, and more are coming. Yesterday Sir Apirana Ngata, in company with Messrs. Tau Henare and Taito To Tomo, M.P.'s, and a large number of Arawas, arrived. They had a characteristic reception, the women wailing, the men gesticulating. Other visitors will bo tho Right Hon. J. G. Coatcs and Mr. Wirernu Ratana, the latter with a largo party of Wanganui natives.
This afternoon the pa at Waahi was thrown open to Europeans and a large number visited it.
Arrangements have been made for a special train to run between Huntly and Taupiri to-morrow to take mourners to the funeral.
