FIFTY-FIRST ASSEMBLY.

IN AUCKLAND NEXT WEEK.

After four years the Baptist Union of New Zealand will again assemble at the Tabernacle, Auckland, on Wednesday next and continue till Wednesday of the following week. It will be the 51st assembly. The opening address will be delivered by Mr. W. J. Bardsley, of Dunedin, who succeeds the retiring president, the Rev. Dr. J. J. North, of Auckland. It is not expected the conference will be a large one, but the reports to be presented will show the largest increase in membership yet recorded. The subject of Mr. Bardsley's 'opening address on Wednesday will be "Our Witness." The union service on Thursday morning will be preached by the Rev. L. A. North, of Christchurch, and in the evening a young people's demonstration will be held in the Unity Ilall. Friday will be missionary day and that evening a memorial to the late Rev. .T. W. Kemp will be unveiled. For Saturday a musical festival has been arranged, and at all Baptist Churches 011 Sunday evening special services will be held.

Outgoing students will bo ordained on Monday, which will lie college and Bible class night, and on Tuesday the Women's Missionary Union will hold its annual meeting and the Lord's Supper celebrated. Tho conference will end on Wednesday, when the proceedings will be devoted to discussions on Church work and a reception given to the Baptist College.
