With their advantage threatened Grafton played up vigorously, but without result, and it was Otahuhu who got the next points, Gladding taking a short pass to throw himself over at the corner. Grace missed. Grafton 19, Otahuhu 15. There was excitement when Gladding crossed again for Otahuhu, but he went over the dead ball line and a great chance was lost. Grafton then rallied and Finlayson broke away to give Currey a try, which Paton conrvrted, and the game ended :— Grafton 24 Otahuhu 15 Mr. Paul was referee.
