ROYAL PORT NICHOLSON CLUB.
ATTAINS ITS JUBILEE.
The Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club, Wellington, attains its 50th year of existence this month and steps will be taken to suitably honour the occasion. Speaking at the annual meeting, Mr. W. Duncan, who retired from ollicc after 12 years as commodore, said that the club was in a sound position and as vigorous as ever it had been. Small boat sailing had increased in popularity and although a few years ago it used to be urged that the small boat owner should not be neglected, the position was now reversed. Now it was advisable not to neglect the. big keel yachts into which the owners and crew of the small craft were eventually drafted, and as the pioneer of yachting in Wellington the club had much to bo proud of. Mr. Duncan, in vacating the chair in favour of the new commodore, Mr. Nigel Blair, thanked all for their loyal co-operation during his term of office. It was decided to place on record the club's appreciation of Mr. Duncan's good work and expressed the hope that he would continue to take an active interest in the club. Mr. Duncan assured members he would do so".
