"AT THE WRONG END."
RISE IN WOOL PRICES,
MANUFACTURER'S COMMENT
Mr. Forrester Paton, of the firm of Paton and Baldwin, wool manufacturers, of Yorkshire, arrived by the Monowai this morning. Speaking of the rise in the price of wool, he said the United States lias come in as a purchaser and that Lad been one of the factors contributing to the rise. ITc thought that rumours of war might also have contributed in some degree to the higher prices. There had been a reaction since. The figure had jumped up far too quickly and the rise had commenced at the wrong end. By that lie meant that there was not tlieinitial rise in the manufactured article to account for the rise in price of the raw material.
