MAN'S HAIR SINGED.
ESCAPE FROM BURNING HOUSE CLOSE CALL AT HOROTIU. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A seven-roomed house, owned and occupied by Mr. James Jamieson, farmer, of Horotiu, with its contents, was totally destroyed by fire at 12.30 a.m. yesterday. Mr. and Mre. Jamieson and their family were asleep when the outbreak. occurred. Mr. Jamieson had a narrow escape when leaving tlio house. He grabbed some clothes and dashed outside, but the flames singed his hair. The insurances are held with the Eagle, Star and British Dominion Office. There is £325 on the furniture and piano, £500 on the house and, £20 on the waslihouse.
