FLOOD WARNINGS.

Floods are occurring in a number of localities. A motor car was washed down the Hutt River, near Clare, South Australia, and two children were drowned. The townships of Noarlunga and Port Dcnison are partly submerged and sandbags arc being used to keep the flood back at Underdakj a suburb of Adelaide. Rivers in Victoria are rising. Floods aro already reported at a number of townships, while others are expected. The Ovens Fiver at Wangaratta rose to a 17ft el, or one foot over the recognised danger level. Warnings have been issued in many places for people to evacuate low-lying spots. Rains in South and Central New South Wales practically assure good wheat crops, which recent frosts and westerly winds had made doubtful. Frosts also in Victoria and South Australia have been heavy, but. soaking rains minimised tho effects.
