FOOD DRIVE.
GIRL GUIDES' GOOD WORK. The food collected by the girl guides on Wednesday was distributed yesterday to the various units of the Social Workers' Association. Each unit will be responsible for the distribution of the produce to deserving cases in their respective districts. A number of people have called at the depot in Grey Avenue for a share of the foodstuffs, but they had to be told that the actual distribution is being carried out .by the Social Workers' Association, and in the suburbs by local welfare societies. . The GhT Guides' Association was responsible for the drive, and they handed the goods over to about 10 social organisations for distribution. The city depot, in charge of; Mrs. K. McNair, received no fewer than 1000 pots of jam, iiOlb of butter. 501b of tea and quantities of vegetables and other produce. The suburban depots had received correspondingly good results. Mrs. McNair said that the guides were to be congratulated on the success of the drive. The ready response by the public was a pleasing feature.
