'Wool Values Soaring at Sydney Sales. HARDENING TENDENCY. * SYDNEY, August 30. The Sydney wool sales were continued to-day, when 12,423 bales were offered and 12,098 were sold. Also, 2289 bales were sold privately. The market showed a further hardening tendency, values reaching the highest point for the season so far. The chief buyers were Japanese, Yorkshire, French and German. • Almost a total clearance was effected. Greasy Merino made to 19d per lb. FINANCIAL BENEFIT. RESULTS OF WOOL ADVANCE. LONDON, August 30. The "Financial News" says the sharp rise in wool prices, by increasing the export surplus, will materially improve the Commonwealth's financial standing. Doubtless the Government will take advantage of the favourable opportunity to convert the 6 per cent 1931-41 issue.
