AT TAKANINI.
CHEERY KING SPRINTS WELL. The outside grass track, which was available at Takanini this morning, provided excellent going. , Tatyoon was the first to work, the Treclare gelding running three furlongs in 30 3-ss, doing it nicely. an( j Exaggeration were not doing their best over the last half-mile of their work, which occupied 54a. Sir Willonyx sprinted three furlongs down the back,in 38s, the first two taking 245. Peter's Pride and Nun Nicer were sprinted down the straight at the end of their work. Full Measure completed hie work on the plough by running seven furlongs in 1.45, being under restraint throughout. Rereatu and Eldora shaped well while sprinting half ,i mile on the plough in 545. Both could have done better. Cherry King was responsible for the- best effort of the morning, running half a mile in 50 2-ss. The Paper Money-Killena colt covered two furlongs in 275. being under restraint. The Hiker and Diversion have left for New Plymouth to fulfil engagements at the Taranaki Hunt meeting on Saturday.
