THE ANNUAL MEETING. ■' - V r ' ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") TAURANGA, Wednesday. The annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Jock.ey Club was held last night, and was well attended. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Hon. C. E. Maemillan, M.P.; president, Mr. J. A. Guinness; vicepresident, Mr. J. : Tanner, clerk of the scales, Mr. C. H. Jordan; assistant clerk of scales, Mr. M. Simmonds;- clerk of the course, Mr. A. W. Snodgrass; assistant clerk of the course, Mr. W. O'Halloran; hon. treasurer, Mr. J. Tanner; hon. surgeons, Drs. J*. B. MacDiarmid, T. Stuart, Watt and J. Mark; committee and stewards, Messrs. E. L. Broad, J-. M. Darragh, W. L. Davoren, T. Moncur, A. E. Newsham, W. Tanner, P._McKenna, R. Wallis, H. E. Olding, A. N. lies, _ F. Spredborough and A. Tutchen; judicial committee, Messrs. A. E. Newsham, E. L. Broad, W. Ferguson, J. G. Green and W. F. Sinclair; hon. barrier stewards, Messrs. E. Pemberton and A. Harper; auditor, Mr. R. L. Thomas. It was decided that the appointments of judge, handicapper, starter, timekeeper and hon. veterinary surgeon.be left to.the incoming committee. It was resolved to make a special effort to increase the membership in view of the fact that a two days' meeting will be held on March 24 and 20. On the motion of Mr. E. L. Broad, representations are to be made for an alteration in the constitution of the Auckland district committee, with a view to allowing direct representation to the Bay of Plenty and adjacent clubs.
