ROBERTSON BEATS S. HUGHES. (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) GISBORNE, ttis day. In an eight-round boxing professional contest here last night, W. Robertson (Gisborne), 10.8, beat Steve Hughes (Whangarei), 10.2, on points. The Gisborne amateur championships were concluded. The title-holders are:— Bantam-weight, W. McKay; featherweight, J. Johnstone; lightweight, A. Waugh; welter-weight, F. Allen; middleweight, S. Matchett; light-heavy-weight, W. Buckingham; heavy-weight, Mahunga Brown. WELLINGTON CHAMPIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Boxing Association's tournament to decide the amateur senior champions terminated at the Winter Show Stadium last night. The 1933 title-holders are:—Paper-weight, H. Kelly; fly, H. Mlott,; bantam, L. Larsen; feather, K. Wood; light, T. Corbin; welter, J. B. Kent; middle, J. Mansfield; light-heavy, J. Ford. The medal for the most scientific boxer was awarded to Larsen.
