VISITING HORSES' TASKS. ARRIVAL OF WINNAGAN. . No. 3 grass track was' available at Ellerslie this morning, and several of the visiting horses were given useful tasks. The hurdles in the centre were also in use. The going was excellent. Glenade and Ruby Meteor were allotted a round which they completed in 1.46 1-5, covering the last three furlongs in 42 2-ss. Ruby Meteor finished in front, but both horses worked well. Gigantic was given useful work, concluding with a sprint down the straight. Deputy Ruler went particularly well oyer half a mile, which he accomplished in 60 2-ss. He has come on fast with the last few gallops. Sinking Fund ran home from the three furlong post in 40 l-ss, doing it very comfortably. The jumper, Valpeen, worked over about a mile and a half, being timed to run six furlongs in 1.28 2-5.' '
Merry Lap did useful work on the sand track.
Mangu King (H. Dulieu) gave a good display over two hurdles, and afterwards went six furlongs on the grass in 1.25 4-5. Sir Pathfinder (F. Thompson) gave an excellent display over four .hurdles. This horse will contest the Hunters' Hurdle Race to-morrow.
