Half a dozen remain in the Greemnoun Steeplechase, with which the programmi will open. Ruby Meteor was third in tin Greenlane Steeplechase at the Grea Northern meeting, but fell at the Relie meeting while contesting the Harkawa; Steeplechase. She schooled well on Thurs day. Zane Grey occupied a similar positio; in the Hunt ,Club Cup at the Grea Northern fixture', while Sir Pathfinder showed excellent promise at Rotorua, bu is to run in the Hurdles. Valpeen, whe ' ran second in a steeplechase at Te Rap: in May, and Ironic may he the best o the others. Those who may appeal mos are RUBY METEOR ZANE GREY. VALPEEN. Harris Hurdles. A Big Field. The Sylvia-Park Handicap has attractei the largest field of the day, twenty-fou: being paid up for. Gay Sheila was agooi two-year-old last season, and if she race up to that form will have a show. Roya Gallant has disappointed, but Sinkini Fund's two good efforts at Marton wil bring him support, though he found si: furlongs a bit too far for him at the Grea Northern meeting. Anyhow, he has plent; of pace. Tavern Knight has an engage ment in the Dunedin Handicap as well a this race, and if he is started- he will b strongly in favour after his good effort a Trentham last month. Kin March, after his unlucky run in the Jul; Handicap at Ellerslie last month, whici he should have won, will be well fancied Plying Prince failed in that event, whil Protomint has nothing to commend bin recently. Speedmint also went badly ii the July Handicap at Ellerslie, but wit] A. Tinker aboard to-morrow she should no lack on the score of horsemanship and-i likely to be more troublesome. Maori Roy after has good effort at Ellerslie, when h was just beaten in the July Handicap, wil have plenty of friends. Those that may b in demand .are KING MARCH MAORI BOY SPEEDMINT. The Hunt Cup. Winnagan has had three successive vie tones over steeples recently and promise to be well supported in the Hunt Oup Nukutere showed a return to form by win ning at Rotorua. Tb public will probably go for NUKUTERE WTNNAGAN ZANE GREY. The Auckland Handicap. Kiltowyn, who won a double at Ellersli on his last appearance, is top-weight ii the Auckland Handicap, and he shouh take some beating if produced. Gigantii raced well at; Rotorua. Tatyoon is speedy and if he jumps away all right should bi in the picture. Merry Lap has a prioi engagement. Sandy Dix, Beryl Latour an( Wee Pat may appeal most of the others The favourites may be KILTOWYN GIGANTIC TATYOON. Ladies' Bracelet. They are' a moderate lot in the Ladies Bracelet. Searcher has not been placec since he ran third over a mile at Rotoru; in February. London was third, in th< Ladies' Bracelet at Rotorua last month while Ruby Meteor is one of the most f:ca poned horses in the race. Coachman hai been going well at Cambridge, and Gastro noiny showed up for a while in a divisioi of the Parnell Handicap at Ellerslie las month. Greek Gold, who heads the Duiiedi] Handicap field, performed well at the Grea Northern meeting, and despite his impos is sure to run a good race. He gallopei well yesterday. Lady Quex lias been ol the scene for some time, but Lord Va went well on his last appearance at Ellen '. lie. Tradesman is a smart sprinter am has been going well at Te Rapa. Chroma dyne was fourth in the York Handicap one mile, at the Great Northern meeting while Deputy Ruler was a good two-yeai old last season, and his latest track wor] has been encouraging. However, he may b in need of a race. Delrain was fourth ii the Visitors' Handicap, six furlongs, at th Great Northern meeting, and if he jump away smartly will have a show.
